With the increasing use of coated white board paper (such as for the outer packaging of milk boxes, beer boxes, etc.), customers have higher and higher requirements for coated white board paper - higher strength, better Thickness and appearance stability. From the point of view of the manufacturer, it is eager to increase the speed and output of the paper machine, but also to reduce the cost of production and operation. In order to meet the requirements of both parties, in addition to rational allocation of the use of fiber raw materials, another best way is to find ways to reduce the coating amount of white board paper. To reduce the amount of coating, two principles must be followed: one is not to affect the appearance of the paper, and the other is to help improve the performance of the coating.
Calcined kaolin for papermaking is made of high-quality coal-based kaolin as raw material, through mineral processing, ultra-fine grinding, and calcining. It has relatively complete sheet structure, good porosity, reasonable particle size distribution and excellent light scattering. At the same time, due to its high whiteness, low abrasion value and good oil absorption, it is an excellent coating pigment and is currently mainly used for coating in the paper industry. Its main functions and advantages are:
1. It can replace titanium dioxide or other high-cost filler pigments and reduce production costs.
2. Can improve paper properties, such as: smoothness, gloss and opacity.
3. It can improve the ink absorption and the printability of the coating.
4. It has good compatibility with various additives in the coating formulation.
5. Due to its high viscosity, it can prepare high solid content coatings.
Application situation analysis after using calcined soil:
1. The expansion of the application field of calcined kaolin is conducive to our further utilization of coal resources, and has good effects on environmental protection, waste utilization and alleviating the shortage of Kaolin resources.
2. The use of calcined soil in coatings will not adversely affect the mechanical properties and surface properties of paper.
3. As the amount of calcium carbonate in the paint increases, the amount of additives such as brighteners and dispersants can be reduced accordingly.
4. After the calcined soil is used, it can increase the solid content and hiding effect of the coating, and achieve the purpose of reducing steam consumption and coating amount.
