The ODB-2(CAS 89331-94-2) is thermal & pressure sensitive dyes. The other name of ODB-2 is 2-Anilino-6-dibutylamino-3-methylfluoran. The ODB-2 is our advantageous product.
The shelf life of ODB-2 is 36 months. The storage is under the room temperature and away from light. ODB-2 is mainly used as a thermal paper  for the paper industry to produce thermal paper.

What are the uses of ODB-2?
The ODB-2 can be applied in the conventional way as a color former by the application of an aqueous coating composition to a pre-coated base paper followed by drying and calendaring. The coating composition will also contain appropriate amounts of various additives including color developer and sensitizer.

The performance of ODB-2 will  be governed to some extent by the choice of the other coating components in the coating formulation as well as the quality of the base paper. A top coat may be applied on the thermal layer as a protective coating.

ODB-2 is also suitable for using as a color former in most carbonless paper applications. Main component for black image formulations or as shading component for other color image formulations.

ODB-2 can be used as a color former for both thermal and carbonless paper. In thermal paper, this takes the form of applying an aqueous coating composition to a pre-coated base paper. This coated paper is then dried and calendared. Appropriate amounts of different additives such as color developer and sensitizer will also be contained in the composition.

This means that the final performance of ODB-2 will at least partially depend on the choice of other coating components in the formulation. The quality of the paper base itself is of course also important. As protective coating, a top coat may be applied to the thermal layer.

In comparison, ODB-2 can be used for carbonless paper acts as a main component for black image formulations or as a shading component for other color image formulations.

ODB-2 is suitable for almost all thermal paper grades and displays good dynamic sensitivity and excellent background stability. Image stability might be negatively impacted in combination with BPA – this can be countered by blending with WinCon-205. It's compatible with commonly used capsule technologies and soluble in most commonly used capsule oils. ODB-2 (CAS 89331-94-2) typically develops a neutral to greenish-black shade in combination with phenolic resin and zinc salicylate as developers and a neutral to slightly bluish-black shade in combination with clay as developer.

The ODB--2 has good light fastness on phenolic resin and zinc salicylate papers and moderate light fastness on clay papers. On phenolic resin and zinc salicylate papers the image fades slightly with reddening.
